API Documentation Generation: From Text Documentation to Swagger—Ivan Maltsev

Well-structured and up-to-date API documentation that aligns with modern RESTful API description standards is a necessity that should be addressed in the early stages of development. However, this stage is often ignored due to time constraints, project limitations, or insufficient understanding of what modern API documentation should look like and what benefits it provides. In this talk, Ivan Maltsev, Frontend Developer at QIC digital hub, explains how we generated structured API descriptions based on standards like Swagger (OpenAPI) from text documentation in Confluence Docs and Backend code. More importantly, I'll demonstrate how using Swagger enabled us to automate key API workflow processes.
